- As of June 24, 2009, Blogger.com lists 13,100 profiles including “South Dakota” in their location information. Of course, this figure doesn’t tell us how many of those users actually have blogs, how many of those bloggers are active, how many are giving bogus info, and how many South Dakota users may not have bothered to list their location.
- On October 14, Blogger.com brings up only 6,100 profiles including "South Dakota" in their location information. Have they cleaned out their database? (Ten mintues later, Blogger says there are 6,400 results.)
- Quiggin (2006) estimates blog output (worldwide?) mid-2005 translated to 300M person-hours/year, equiv. of 150K full-time, full-year workers. Number of U.S. news analysts, reporters, and correspondents in 2002 = 66,000. It would be interesting to quantify the output of the South Dakota Blogosphere in this economic fashion: just how much work are we doing from our keyboards?
